3 Things You Didn’t Know About Your Auto & Home Insurance

Most people think once they have insurance, they’re fully covered. But sometimes, there are things hiding in your policy that can cost you later.

1. Your Deductible Is the Money You Pay First

Before your insurance pays for a claim, you pay something called a deductible (also known as your “share of the bill”). If your deductible is too high, you might not have the cash when something bad happens. Think about it like this: if your car gets hit or your roof gets damaged, can you pay that amount right now? If not, it might be time to change it.

2. Bundles Don’t Always Save You Money

A lot of folks think that putting home and auto together always saves you money. Sometimes it does—but not always. You still need to make sure both coverages are strong enough. Saving a few dollars a month isn’t worth being under-protected later.

3. Floods, Wind, and Hail Can Be Tricky

Many Texas homeowners don’t know that floods or big storms aren’t always covered unless you have special protection added. Don’t wait for a storm to find out the hard way.
